Job Description

Location West Palm Beach, Dallas, Indianapolis, remote work/telecommuting available. Authority

  • Exercises countermand authority per 14 CFR Part 135.427(b)(8).
  • Is authorized to sign FAA Operations Specifications paragraphs A, D, and E.4.5.1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the Maintenance Department functions in accordance with approved budgets, established Company policies and procedures and applicable 14 CFR Part regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining the company’s aircraft and equipment to ensure continuous safety, airworthiness and compliance status within the approved maintenance programs, FARs and company policies.
  • Responsibility for and oversight for maintenance contracts. Negotiate, secure and execute contracts with agencies OMPs required for aircraft and aircraft part and component repair, overhaul, modification, etc.
  • Coordinate with departments within the company on matters relative to the operations, quality assurance, and maintenance and scheduling of aircraft.
  • Provide direction and guidance and establish procedures for purchasing, repair, borrowing and lending of parts, materials and products.
  • Responsible for oversight of the selection and training of RII inspectors.
  • Ensure the development and provisions for accomplishing required and necessary training of personnel in the Maintenance Department are continual and contain integrity. Identify training shortfalls in maintenance and forms administration and develop programs and oversee the setup and training of maintenance personnel. Provide the coordination and authority to assure identified training requirements are presented, documented and retained in personnel training files. Has oversight of the Maintenance Training Program and retention of maintenance training records to ensure the condition, currency and retention of maintenance organization personnel training files.
  • Promote safety, morale, cooperation and efficiency.
  • Review aircraft inspection requirements prior to scheduled maintenance events and monitoring aircraft schedules. Coordinates maintenance planning to ensure adequate aircraft down time is available. Ensures adequate information is available to coordinate parts in time to meet lead time requirements for spare parts.
  • Review discrepancies and direct or accomplish corrective action.
  • Schedule routine maintenance, component changes, inspections, airworthiness directives and service bulletins. Establish and administer programs that enable the company to maintain the highest standards for safety, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of company aircraft, engines, and components.
  • Establish work assignments and track their completion by maintenance personnel and redirect work assignments as required on out of Service Aircraft. Discharge duties to meet applicable legal requirements and to maintain safe operations.

  • Supervise On-Call OMPs performing maintenance and returning Company aircraft to service.
  • Provide technical and logistical support to Maintenance and Flight Crews for active aircraft maintenance discrepancies, Minimum Equipment List, Configuration Deviation List, and Non-MEL Deferred Maintenance Items (DMIs) to determine proper and timely corrective action. Ensure that all maintenance performed on aircraft, power plants, appliances and components is performed in accordance with the approved maintenance and inspection program, in accordance with the applicable manufacturer’s maintenance manuals and in accordance with current Regulations.
  • Oversee the Special Flight Authorization process. Promote safety, morale, cooperation and efficiency.
  • Accomplish Maintenance personnel or OMP training as assigned using presentations or training materials.
  • Maintain DFDR and CVR as directed by the General Maintenance Manual.
  • Responsible to ensure that all SDR(s) generated through the Operations Control Center are submitted as
    required.
  • Writes and maintains aircraft maintenance programs to include company manuals such as the GMM and includes revision and oversight of aircraft CFMP, RVSM and MEL documents.
  • Selects and approves OMP maintenance facilities.
  • Coordinate the approval of Outsource Maintenance Providers for aircraft maintenance and parts. Maintain reports and records of auditing and evaluations of Outsource Maintenance Providers.
  • File and maintain training records for all Jet Access Aviation, LLC maintenance personnel.

Note: The Director of Maintenance may delegate duties to qualified persons under his supervision. This does not, however, relieve him of his overall responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Must meet all regulatory requirements 14 CFR Part 119.71(e) for 119.69(a) position
  • To the extent of his responsibility, the Director of Maintenance shall have a full understanding of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance operating practices, including all appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements found in 14 CFR Parts 1, 21, 23, 25, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91, 119, 121, and 135.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the Jet Access Aviation, LLC Maintenance Program, GMM. Must have good leadership and organizational abilities, decision-making skills and must communicate effectively.
  • Hold a current Mechanic Certificate with an airframe and powerplant rating. Have three years within the past three years as a certificated mechanic in maintaining aircraft in same category and class of aircraft operated by Jet Access Aviation, LLC.
